I honestly never thought I would be brave enough to start my own business…

I always dreamed of being a teacher. I wanted to be that person who sparked a love for learning in kids. So, after achieving my B.S.Ed., I landed this amazing job teaching elementary school. But after about six years, I hit a wall. Burnout city, population: me. It wasn’t doing me or my students any favors. That’s when I decided to switch gears and give the corporate world a shot.

Like so many others in 2020, I found my life dramatically changed when I was laid off due to Covid (what a gut punch that was). However, I had discovered a new balance and pace of life outside the 80 hour work week while I was furloughed. I wanted a career that would not only be financially rewarding, but also meaningful while providing a good work/life balance.

Time for my thinking cap…

What are my strengths? Well, I am the kind of person that thrives behind the scenes making sure everything looks good and runs smoothly. I’m in my happy place when I am organizing, streamlining, and simplifying. I love creating policies, procedures, and documents. Technology is a must! And finally, there is nothing better than making someone smile. After conducting some research online, I stumbled upon my dream occupation: Virtual Assistant.
